Interior lighting can create a very different styles of mood and perception of space: happiness, love, pleasure, calm, harmony, tranquility, tense, fear, thoughtfulness, melancholy, internal movements and inspiration, mystery, awe, peace and rest and etc. Lighting the interiors of swimming pools and the water surface and under surface of water column of pools is a very important aspect of the architectural design and interior space. Water can be moving or calm, it can be an illuminated under stream, a fountain, softly flowing layers of water or separate, delicately illuminated jets of water ... This, of course, lighting under water, effects of refraction and scattering, bizarre refraction of light in water, living glare and reflections. All this creates a unique hypnotic effect and is a separate independent topic in the art of creating lighting in interior design.
Here is some my favorite examples of illumination of pools: Koichi Takada Architects, Rossana Vinci, Alila Yangshuo, Wes Anderson, Katarzyna Pankowska, Simon Kampfer, Amangiri Resort , Italianbark, design hunter, designhunter, James Turrell ctc.
